This filter does do a good job of filtering stuff out of the water - but be warned that if you don't start with high water pressure you will have flow problems in your RV. I found that anything below 40 psi was too weak to use the filter - I would just end up with a little more than a trickle inside the RV. If I had 50-65 psi, my flow would be that of a 30-35 psi connection.

In the end, I went with a higher quality (and more expensive) filter because I just couldn't take the water pressure issues. If you're staying someplace with high water pressure, then this is a good inexpensive filter.

I live in a home built in the 1920s. The water main from the street to our house is 80 years old and often results in very hard water that can be tinted red/yellow (rust). When setting up my 50 gallon fishtank, I could not use the water from the tap. Using our Brita drinking filter would have taken forever to fill the tank. We purchased this Culligan, attached it to the hose, and it worked perfectly. Water is clear and the filter removed all of the minerals. Great job by Culligan.

I have tried other disposable filters and seemed to always get one out of 2 that would leak. These seal very well with no odors. Initally, the water when turned on will be dark grey , but that clears quickly.
